The Music
Much of the music performed in the celebrations is original to band members but we also find songs that fit the theme of the celebration.  When choosing songs everything is on the table.  Any style or music from any decade may be included if it fits the theme of the day.

The Creative Process
One of the most unique things about how the music comes together for our celebrations is the creative process.  Charles Gaby lays out ideas for coming themes based on readings from the Revised Common Lectionary.  When he meets with the celebration team they begin a process of opening to new inspiration that culminates in the choices for the coming celebration and often as a part of that there is a lyric.

The lyric is something that emerges from the theme and is shared around the team and soon music emerges.  Often lyrics come on Tuesday, music on Wednesday, charts and demo are sent to the players via internet on Thursday, the band meets to rehearse the song on Sunday morning and performs it in the celebration that morning.  The song is recorded in the service and added to a list for possible inclusion on the next CD project.

In the creative process amazing things happen... sometimes stories emerge during the week, many people help shape how the music forms.  Its all a part of the dance of our community
